Corinne is a specialist crime and extradition practitioner. She regularly
appears in both the High Court and Crown Court and has defended and
prosecuted a broad range of cases including sexual offences, robbery,
homophobic crimes and witness intimidation.
She is proficient in representing young defendants and those with
mental health problems. Corinne is a Grade I Prosecutor on the Crown
Prosecution Service's London List of Advocates.
Corinne regularly appears in extradition proceedings and represents
both requested persons and judicial authorities, at first instance
and at appeal in the High Court.
In 2009, Corinne was seconded as 'in-house' Counsel at the Crown Prosecution
Service's Extradition Unit (Special Crime Division). On secondment
Corinne advised and represented foreign judicial authorities at all
stages of the extradition process. She continues to advise domestic
prosecution agencies in respect of extradition to the United Kingdom
from foreign states. She co-writes monthly extradition updates for
lawbriefupdate.com and provides extradition law seminars and workshops
to solicitors' firms on a regular basis.

Defendant acquitted of 'possession of extreme pornographic images'
pursuant to section 63(1) of Criminal Justice and Immigration Act
2008 following a successful half-time submission.
Corinne is currently instructed Junior Counsel, led by Hanna Llewellyn-Waters, prosecuting a Defendant charged with 15 counts of rape and sexual assault against three complainants.
Corinne is currently instructed Junior Counsel, led by Alun Jones
QC, on behalf of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Turin which
seeks the extradition of a Defendant to Italy for offences of aggravated
murder, attempted robbery and illegal possession and carrying of arms
for which he was convicted in the 1980's.
Rytmetis v. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of
Lithuania [2010] EWHC 1048 (Admin)
High Court appeal against an order for extradition, challenging the
validity of a European Arrest Warrant, pursuant to section 2(3) of
the Extradition Act 2003; and the compatibility of extradition with
Articles 2 and 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Okruch v. Circuit Court In Rzeszow, Poland [2010] EWHC 1047 (Admin)
High Court appeal against an order for extradition challenging its
compatibility with Articles 2 and of the European Convention on Human
Rights and section 25 of the Extradition Act 2003 based on the mental
health of the Appellant and the lack of suitable facilities in the
requesting state.
Johnson v. State Prosecutor at the Tribunal de Grande Instance
de Lille, France and Stevens v. Judicial Authority of the Government
of France [2009] EWHC 2830 (Admin)
Successfully resisted an appeal concerning the validity of European
Arrest Warrants which sought the return of British nationals to face
trial for serious drug trafficking offences in France.
Mihociu v. Central Court of the Dictrict of Pest, Hungary [2010]
EWHC 708 (Admin)
Successfully resisted an appeal against an order for extradition on
grounds of abuse of process, oppression due to the passage of time
and Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Akyol v. DPP Zwole Lelystad Netherland [2010] EWHC 605 (Admin)
Successfully resisted an appeal against an order for extradition on
grounds of oppression due to a passage of time of 15 years between
a conviction for drugs-related offences and the commencement of extradition
proceedings against an individual in the UK.
Kwasny v.Poland [2010] EWHC 518 (Admin)
Successfully resisted an appeal against an order for extradition.
The Appellant had effectively served three months more than that required
to be served in Poland due to a lengthy delay between the making of
the extradition order and the appeal hearing.
