Alun Jones QC is a specialist in criminal and administrative law, including commercial crime, extradition, mutual assistance, international criminal law and judicial review. In 2005, he founded and became Head of Great James Street Chambers.
His experience in Crime and extradition is vast, he has been involved in many of the most notorious cases of the last 15 years, regularly dealing with high profile clients and issues.
He has conducted numerous full House of Lords appeals in extradition cases, acting in ten of them for foreign governments, including Pinochet, for the Government of Spain.
He is world renowned, having advised and advocated in cases in Hong Kong (Court of Appeal and Privy Council), Japan, Australia, India, throughout Western Europe and the Caribbean. He has appeared in two USA requisitions in drugs cases, one of which, Liangsiriprasert [1991] 1 AC 225 is recognised as a leading case upon territorial jurisdiction in English and Commonwealth criminal law.
