Defending in all aspects of criminal law with an emphasis on fraud; extradition; sports law including contractual disputes, disciplinary tribunals and arbitrations; public law and judicial review.


Current cases:

Advising Harry Redknapp in relation to the ongoing investigation into corruption in football, Southampton player Bradley Wright-Phillips whose case was discharged at the committal stage following a successful submission regarding the sufficiency of evidence. A Southend player, and a premiership referee, who currently face criminal charges. Involved with various disputes with regard to football players contracts. Advising on a US extradition request relating to sanctions breaching offences under the UN oil for food programme with Iraq. Judicial review of HMRC with regard to their extended verification process. Operation Devout, a multi million pound money laundering and MTIC fraud allegation.

Operation Vitric: £100,000,000 VAT carousel fraud stayed for abuse of process.

R –v- Ricky Maynard: Widely publicised murder of a London barrister’s clerk.

Operation Alpington: Supergrass case hailed as the breaking of the largest cocaine cartel in the UK.

Operation Movement
: Conspiracy to supply high end stolen vehicles to Africa. The largest case of its type.

R. –v- Henry and others: Largest ever NHS payroll fraud.

R. –v- Robert Howard: The murders of Hannah Williams and Arlene Arkinson.

Sport:

Variously represented and advised: Ben Thatcher, Emerson Boyce, Andy Gray, Mike Newell, Jason Euel, Bradley Wright-Phillips, Lewis Hunt, World In Motion Ltd.

Harry Redknapp and Sandra Redknapp –v- The Commissioner of the City of London Police- For both Claimants in this successful challenge to the execution of a search warrant at the Redknapp’s home.
